1988 CONVERTIBLE

I purchased my car in 1993 after my 1988 Mustang LX Sedan was stolen and after 30 days, not recovered. (They finally found it 2 weeks after buying my convertible) I was looking all over for a GT convertible solid color, 5 speed, with leather interior. Which by the way, was harder to find than one would think.
I finally found one out of the auto trader. The car was completely stock with less than 50k miles. The guy lived in Seattle and I bought it over the phone. I met him and put a deposit down for him to hold it for me until I got my insurance money. I was able to see it at that time but, not drive it. I got my settlement a week later and drove to Seattle with my friend Lea to pick it up. We met him downtown and after I paid him, I was nice enough to give him a ride home in my new car! Driving it for the first time. It was a cloudy day, but as you guys with convertibles know, when you first buy it you have to put the top down!!
On the way home it started raining and we had to stop under a overpass to put the top up! The first thing that had to be done was to get rid of the stock rims and stereo system! After that I added the ram air (working) hood and whale tale. A few years later I needed to replace the top and had the windows tinted. I had it repainted because I wanted to add pearl to it.... I have never been in a wreck in it but, I had it parked at a bar one night and some drunk guy turned the corner and peeled a section of the door skins on the driver side all the way down the fender! It looked like they took a can opener to it! That is the only body work that has been done.
My car was my daily driver for a number of years. Now I just drive it during the summer and occassionally the rest of the year. I 2001 I started putting money into it again. Starting with replacing the leather skins on the seats, exhaust, I had a chip installed and replaced some of the stuff under the hood for shinier stuff.... In 2005 I had my ponies added to the side of the car. Now my car has 198,000 miles on it and I am just waiting for the engine to go out before replacing that.
