1983 GLX CONVERTIBLE

Rob Minnieweather Jr., has been a member of the Mustang Community since the age of 10, after all he was needed to help detail his Mom’s 88 GT/HB Stang for all the different shows and parades! So naturally when he turned 16 it was time to shop for a car or should I say “Mustang” after all Rob’s had as much fun Mustanging as his Mom! Rob found this Cherry Red Mustang locally (Port Orchard, WA) through an ad, which read: “For Sale” 1983 Convertible, Red, V6, Automatic Trans., AM/FM Stereo, have outgrown? “What does it mean he had outgrown a Mustang? I figured it meant the owner wanted a bigger engine (maybe in its future, but I be paying for it), not so, as he really had outgrown the Mustang, for he had a big boat in his driveway to work on, a camper to fix up and put on the back of his truck, and his kids (girl & boy) were at the “Stop touching me stages”, and the owner had been given a 4-door (each kid had a door) Escort wagon, so they had indeed outgrown this Stang!

This 1983 GLX Cherry Red Convertible, with tan interior, V6 (3.8 liter 232 cid), automatic trans., AM/FM stereo, Roll-down rear-side windows and tempered-glass back window came under my ownership on August 15, 2000. Upon further research after bringing my Steed home, I found out that I am in possession of one of the 23,438 convertibles made after a 10 year hiatus, so needless to say I do know how special this car is, besides I’m told it’s a chick magnet, since it is a Red Convertible! “Happiness is going Topless”!
